Saltaire Open Village May 2026
If you couldn't make it to the Saltaire Open Village in May, here's a quick recap of the event and some insights into what was a really fun weekend!
Even a rainy Sunday couldn't dampen the spirits of the people taking part and the visitors to the Saltaire Arts Trail. Over the course of the Bank Holiday weekend I welcomed 700 people into my home (fortunately not all at once!) to come and chat, look at Bobbie Print and also talk about Saltaire itself and what it's like to be a resident of the village.
I absolutely loved this event, I love taking part in fairs and markets but you are most often restricted to a table top and I'm usually constrained by what I can carry in my massive suitcase but this time I had free reign on the space, the set up and the opportunity to play shop in my living room was something I grabbed with both hands!
I drew Bluebells on the living room window, Cornflowers on my studio window at the back and put up the instantly recognisable red Saltaire Inspired bunting!

There was some furniture shuffling beforehand (thanks to my husband for helping me carry a chest of drawers downstairs) and I really took it as an opportunity to use my interior objects and things i've collected to support and compliment Bobbie Print's mini cards and prints. My vintage typewriter was a great success and a brilliant talking point.
It was such a great event, I'd highly recommend taking part if you have the opportunity and I'm definitely keen to do it all again next year!
